About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic inpatient bank team in Perth & Kinross, Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients with diverse needs, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital setting, delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to the individual needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine their occupational needs.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support rehabilitation and independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
* Provide therapeutic interventions, including education on adaptive strategies, use of assistive devices, and environmental modifications.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) for holistic patient care, including case discussions and discharge planning.
* Deliver patient and family education to prepare for transitions to home or other care settings.
* Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards.
* Support and mentor junior staff, students, and therapy assistants as required.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
* Experience: Minimum 6 months NHS paid experience, including inpatient or acute care settings.
* Skills: Strong assessment and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Knowledge: Understanding of current OT practices, discharge planning, and rehabilitation pathways.
