Our client is based in the South East of England and supports customers across the UK and Ireland markets. They work with OEMs on new build solutions and provide comprehensive aftermarket support, including spare parts supply, repair services, and overhaul capabilities through their local workshop and highly skilled field service team.
We are seeking a
Field Service Engineer - Marine
for a permanent full-time position. This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel and time away from home, including weekends and potentially weeks at a time depending on project requirements. The position is home-based with travel to client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support for marine drive systems as part of a Global Marine Field Service team
* Support sales teams within the Marine department where appropriate
* Conduct diagnostics and repairs at customer or third-party premises
* Perform major unit overhauls at customer facilities or third-party locations
* Travel and work internationally as part of the Global Marine Field Service resource
* Provide technical assistance to sales staff on marine product applications
* Consult with Health & Safety and Service Management on operational issues at various premises
* Ensure all tooling and equipment remains within calibration requirements
* Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
* Identify and report future business opportunities
* Interface with Marine Sales and commercial departments to identify field service growth opportunities
* Collaborate with customers to minimize equipment downtime
* Complete stock counts in accordance with company procedures
* Work within workshop facilities as required
* Complete documentation and reports promptly
* Train and support colleagues with product knowledge
* Work flexible hours to meet customer requirements
* Report potential quality issues identified during assignments
* Complete required training programs in a timely manner
* Maintain professional representation of the company at all times
* Demonstrate excellent technical communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
Essential Requirements
* Service and engineering background
* Marine engineering experience (Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, Ships Crew, Drydocks, etc.)
* Electrical & Mechanical engineering experience
* High Voltage experience (electrical motors & inverters)
* Electronic control systems knowledge
* Microsoft Office proficiency
* Valid UK driving licence
Package Details
* Contract:
Permanent, full-time
* Hours:
41 hours per week
* Salary:
£50,000 - £75,000 (dependent on experience)
* Bonus:
Annual performance bonus (pro-rated in year of joining)
* Holiday:
25 days annual leave (pro-rated on joining)
* Pension:
3% employee contribution, 6% employer contribution
