Administrator
Salary: £25,000 – £26,000 per annum
* Location: Birmingham (Hockley area)
* Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (flexibility available, e.g. 8:30am start)
* Work Location: Office-based
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run business with a long-standing reputation for quality and professionalism. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive Administrator to join a friendly, supportive office environment and play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Acting as the first point of contact for incoming office calls
* Providing daily support to site drivers, including PPE requirements and site-related printing
* Recording and maintaining subcontractor insurance documents and accreditations, and chasing renewals where required
* Organising employee training through approved online training providers
* Supporting Health & Safety processes, including collating site start-up boxes in line with all H&S protocols
* Regularly checking and replenishing First Aid kits for site use
* Maintaining the fleet vehicle database, including MOTs, servicing and road tax
* Liaising with the Contracts Supervisor to arrange MOTs and vehicle servicing
* Using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel for daily administrative tasks
* Photocopying and printing documents for Directors and senior management
Essential skills and experience include:
* Proven experience in an Office Administrator, Office Assistant or similar role
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* A confident and pleasant telephone manner
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* Familiarity with office management procedures and general Health & Safety principles

* Professional, punctual and dependable
* Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Strong attention to detail with good grammar and numeracy skills
* Able to plan your own workload, use initiative and meet deadlines
* Comfortable following instructions and company procedures
* Approachable, cooperative and respectful when dealing with colleagues, subcontractors and clients
Qualifications:
GCSEs, A-Levels or higher education are advantageous but not essential
