Charity shops are the in-place to shop, and in 2025, we want you to join us at our store in Wokingham, Berkshire! By joining our team, you will be part of establishing this shop within the local community and keeping people and their pets at the heart of everything we do.
More about the role
Supported by generous donations and loved by our fantastic customers, our shop receives unique, quality items where every purchase helps us continue our vital work caring for over 40,000 animals each year through rehoming, veterinary, and education programmes.
Working with our Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager, you will confidently serve your community and help lead and motivate our team of volunteers. You will manage incoming donations and supervise and support volunteers with daily store operations.
Our shop is open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. This role is on a zero-hours contract, with hours agreed based on business needs—flexibility is essential. Weekend and bank holiday work may be required.

Internally, this role is known as a Standby Shop Assistant.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
· Has previous retail experience.
· Is proficient in cash handling and reconciliation.
· Has supervisory experience.
· Thrives in customer-facing roles.
· Possesses computer literacy and administrative skills.
It would also be great if you have experience:
Additional experience in retail or customer service is a plus.
