Role Summary
Lead the Autism Support Centre, an enhanced provision for pupils with an EHCP where autism is recognised as their primary need. You will support each child to overcome barriers to attending the mainstream classroom and work alongside other professionals to develop and share best practice for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support teaching and learning for pupils in the Autism Support Centre.
* Collaborate with specialist teams, parents and external agencies to plan and review individual pupil progress.
* Provide training and mentorship for staff on best practice with ASC.
* Ensure high expectations of children and staff and contribute to raising standards and attainment.
* Engage with the broader school community to promote inclusive practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experienced primary school teacher with knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
* Demonstrable experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
* Relevant training or qualifications in supporting pupils with ASC.
* High expectations of children and themselves, with a passion for raising standards and attainment.
* Engaging teaching style, collaborative team player, commitment to improving and developing practice.
* Ability to lead and support others and liaise confidently with other agencies.
