We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Second in Mathematics to join a secondary school in the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator to support the Head of Department in driving high standards in teaching, learning, and achievement across the Maths department..
Second in Maths Responsibilities:
* Support the Head of Maths in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the department.
* Deliver high-quality, engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable).
* Assist in curriculum planning, assessment design, and monitoring student progress to raise attainment.
* Mentor and support colleagues, including ECTs and Teaching Assistants, contributing to professional development within the team.
* Take a lead role in driving innovation and maintaining a positive learning environment.
* Use data to inform teaching strategies and interventions that support all learners, including those with SEND or EAL.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and represent the department at relevant meetings.
Second in Maths Requirements:
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Proven track record of raising achievement and delivering excellent outcomes in Maths.
* Experience teaching GCSE Maths is essential; A-Level experience is advantageous
* Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply a for a new one through GSL Education.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to leadership.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and school improvement.
