Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant or hotel management. Duties
* Supervise daily restaurant or hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes.
* Manage team members, including assigning tasks, providing training, and supporting their professional development.
* Ensure adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
* Handle customer enquiries or complaints promptly to maintain excellent guest satisfaction.
* Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and service delivery.
* Maintain a clean, organised work environment in compliance with health and safety policies.
* Support the recruitment process by participating in interviewing prospective team members when necessary.
Experience
* Proven supervisory experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is essential.
* Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
* Experience in managing teams effectively with leadership qualities that motivate staff towards shared goals.
* Familiarity with culinary techniques, food production processes, and kitchen operations.
* Previous roles involving serving or hospitality management are highly desirable.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards applicable to the industry.
* Additional experience in barista work or bar management can be advantageous but is not mandatory.
