Job Description
As CMBS Legal & Compliance Leader, the role has varied responsibilities including:
1. Providing legal advice and guidance on CMBS and real estate lending matters.
2. Ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and CMBS/ lending and Asset Management requirements.
3. Interpreting complex legal contracts and PSAs, applying them to daily commercial real estate servicing activities.
4. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents.
5. Review Asset Approval Memoranda for consents and loan workout proposals.
6. Continuously monitor activities, conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks.
7. Collaborate with asset management teams, senior leadership and internal stakeholders to handle legal and compliance issues effectively.
8. Review, prepare and revise company policies and procedures. Monitor changes in regulations and advise on necessary adjustments to company policies.
9. Handle regulatory filings and manage relationships with regulatory authorities.
10. Promoting an environment of compliance, providing training and support to staff on compliance best practice and related matters.
Candidates must be based in the US, able to commute daily to Richardson, Dallas and hold the right to work now/ indefinitely.
