About the role
The Role
1. Provide tailored support to children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
2. Work with students aged 4–19 years old, supporting both 1:1 and in small groups
3. Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and feeding where required
4. Support students with physical needs, including moving and handling (training can be provided)
5. Respond to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
6. Support the implementation of individual learning plans, behaviour plans, and therapeutic strategies
7. Build meaningful and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them access learning and thrive

To be considered for this role, you will:
14. Have prior experience working with children or young people with SEND
15. Be comfortable supporting students with personal care and physical needs
16. Be calm, confident, and consistent when responding to challenging behaviour
17. Be passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference
18. Be flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to a dynamic school environment
19. Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
20. Ideally have access to reliable transport or live locally

Salary
£445-£470 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
