The Role:
You will be responsible for the design and performance of vessel electrical power systems. This includes specifying and designing the electrical installation of the propulsion (up to 800 V) batteries, emergency (24 V) batteries, power distribution, power system protection, general harnessing, vessel grounding, galvanic protection.
The dept oversees the design and engineering of all control systems, instrumentation, wiring, HMI, power electronics and HV Energy Storage Systems (ESS). The team collaborates closely with all technical departments including Naval Architecture, Propulsion and Mechanical Systems (P&MS), Design Tools and Performance (DT&P) and Compliance to develop ground-breaking zero-emissions foiling vessel technologies
The Person:
Holder of Bachelor (BSc /BEng) degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering),
5+ years working in or towards a Senior Electrical Engineering position with a focus on power systems.
Strong technical and analytical skills in electrical engineering.
Able to investigate and diagnose electrical hardware failures,
Practical, hands-on approach to power system integration,
Able to liaise with 3rd party contractors & test houses,
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
