Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care Homes

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (shifts include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, nights, and lone working)
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our residential care homes in Leyland. You will play a key role in leading and supporting staff, ensuring the highest standards of care, and helping children and young people aged 11–18 achieve their full potential.
As Deputy Manager, you will:
✅ Assist with managing and developing the care team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
✅ Ensure care is delivered in line with legislation, Ofsted regulations, and best practice.
✅ Support and develop personalised care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures.
✅ Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external agencies.
✅ Lead shifts, oversee day-to-day operations, and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
✅ Contribute to achieving and maintaining a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Experienced in working with young people aged 11–18 in a residential care setting.

Confident in leading and supporting a team.

Knowledgeable in safeguarding, child development, and behaviour management strategies.

Skilled in communication, organisation, and decision-making.
*
Resilient, compassionate, and motivated to make a difference in young lives.
Essential requirements:
*
Level 3 qualification in Children’s Social Care / Youth Work (or equivalent).
*
Supervisory experience in a similar setting.
*
Full driving licence.
*
Willingness to work on a rota, including sleep-ins and on-call duties.
(Management qualifications are desirable but not essential – training and development opportunities will be provided.)
