As Essential Skills Tutor, you will be required to motivate and support learners achieve relevant ICT qualifications.
The role is available full time 4-day working week (Mon-Thursday) or flexible part-time hours to be agreed.
Your role will be to:
* Deliver high quality teaching to a diverse range of learners.
* Assess individual learner's training needs in relation to the required level of Essential Skills training as part of a formal induction process and provide teaching accordingly.
* Take appropriate action to ensure each candidate has the maximum opportunity to attain an Essential Skills qualification.
* Prepare and maintain individual learning plans.
* Agree and compile Assessment Plans which demonstrate how Essential Skills Training will be delivered and assessed at key stages.
* Assist participants in identifying and recording achievements throughout their period of training
* Develop a comprehensive range of training material that meet the standards of the Awarding body.
Possession of the following is essential in line with Department for Economy Circular FE 01/12:
GCSE (or any qualification which is deemed to be equivalent) in English (Grade A* – C) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication; and GCSE (or any qualification which is deemed to be equivalent) in Mathematics (Grade A* – C) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules.
And:
A degree obtained at a university in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, of which ICT forms a minimum of 50% of the subject studied, or a degree obtained at any other university, provided the Department accepts the standard and content of that degree as equivalent to those stated above. For example: Computer Education; Computer Science; Computer Studies; Computing & Information Technology; Computing with Education; Statistics & Computer Science; Computer Science & Physics; Business Information Technology.
* Possession of a full driving licence.
Candidates will require Access NI clearance.
