We are seeking a consultant to join a multidisciplinary team to shape a modernising mental health service following recent community and inpatient provision changes.
Location: Inpatient Unit at Laureate Hospital on the site of Wythenshawe Hospital, south Manchester.
Role: Responsible Clinician for Blake Ward, an 8‑bedded unit with 6 programmed activities. The post can be combined with additional part‑time consultants if required.
Responsibilities
Job share with another part‑time consultant.
Provide clinical leadership for the ward team and trainees.
Conduct daily ward reviews and ward rounds; support completion of CPA.
Undertake assessments of admissions to the service.
Assist the team in diagnosing and formulating management plans for all presentations.
Assess and manage risk including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and harm to others.
Coordinate care with input from pharmacists.
Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports and attend subsequent hearings.
Prepare consent to treatment paperwork and other MHA work such as Section 17 leave, section renewals, and CTOs if required.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including external partners and partner providers such as Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.

Salary £109,725 to £145,478 a year pro rata.
