Manufacturing Engineer – Machining Wolverhampton | Full-time onsite Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension) PAYE: £30/hr holiday pay | Umbrella: £40.90/hr Start Date: ASAP | ITAR restrictions apply Morson is currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of Safran Actuation Systems We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help shape the future of our manufacturing systems and processes. In this key technical role, you'll be the link between our customers, suppliers, and internal teams—ensuring manufacturing is built into product design from the start. You will be joining a team responsible for supporting the ongoing operational execution of an Aftermarket (Spares and Repairs) Machine Shop, whilst also supporting the inload of work. You'll lead technology introductions, manage complex improvement projects, and drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with deep machining and programming knowledge, a strong engineering background, aerospace manufacturing experience, and a passion for innovation and problem-solving. What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like? • Provide technical advice and support to the Machine Shop. • Inload piece parts into the Machine Shop both from the Supply Chain, and in support of Transfer opportunities into the Assembly area. • Manage relationships with equipment suppliers and support make-vs-buy decisions. • Act as the main technical interface with customers, suppliers, and internal design teams to ensure products are designed for manufacture. • Lead the technical direction for manufacturing systems, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance targets are met. Essential skills: • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, Machining. • Ability to Program (Preferably using NX). • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation. • HNC (apprentice-trained) or degree in Engineering/Manufacturing, or equivalent experience. Desirable skills: • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. • Project management qualifications (Prince 2, APMP).
