Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be instrumental in reviewing, documenting, and enhancing finance operations processes, including related business workflows, to drive efficiency across the team and wider business. Your work will directly support the Finance Operations team's objectives of ensuring accurate financial records, enabling timely and precise payments but also streamlining processes, improving scalability, and ensuring the function is fully equipped to support ongoing international expansion and commercial agility.
Responsibilities
* Leading the end-to-end automation and optimisation of transactional finance (AP & AR), ensuring scalable processes are in place to support rapid growth and future acquisitions.
* Developing and embedding standardised processes and financial controls to ensure the smooth integration of acquired entities.
* Designing and implementing streamlined AP and AR processes, including invoice workflows, vendor onboarding, billing, collections, and dispute resolution.
* Establishing and embedding evolving payment processes to align with business changes, ensuring efficient and accurate execution.
* Restructuring the existing Finance Operations team to align with business needs, creating clarity around roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
* Establishing robust credit control policies, cash collection procedures, and customer risk assessment frameworks to support a growing, diversified revenue base.
* Partnering cross-functionally to ensure finance operations can flexibly support new business models, product launches, and market expansion.
* Supporting Finance with ad-hoc projects and business-as-usual responsibilities where this is required.
Candidate
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Experienced in integrating acquired businesses into core finance operations, including aligning systems, processes, and reporting standards.
* Experience in fast-scaling, acquisitive business environment.
* Hands-on experience setting up or scaling transactional finance functions, including implementing new team structures, systems, and controls.
* Continuous improvement and hands-on mindset, with the ability to critically assess existing processes and deliver sustainable, scalable solutions.
* Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing environment, with the agility to manage competing priorities and tight timelines.
* Proficient in financial systems and tools, with strong Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics or Sage Intact is highly valued.
