Senior Linux Engineer
Location: Stevenage - This position requires occasional travel to sites within the Greater London area and Southeast. This role is based fully on site, 5 days a week.
We seek a collaborative professional to join our team in delivering superior Linux Support alongside a group of skilled experts, each contributing across multiple contracts to ensure robust Linux solutions. Your Role
8. Support Linux Infrastructure across multiple contracts.
9. Share expertise within the team and implement best practices.
10. Help define operational processes and resolve escalations.
11. Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
12. Occasionally assist with pre-sales or future system designs.
Required Skills & Experience
13. Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent experience.
14. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
15. Strong intra and inter team communication skills
16. Strong experience with Linux administration and support across several different distributions
17. Experience with Linux in an integrated Windows / Active directory environment
18. Experience with Linux automation systems such as Ansible
19. Experience with Linux scripting across several different languages – preferably Bash, Python and at least one other
20. Experience of Clustered environments and cluster orchestration tools
21. Experience of clustered, parallel file systems, such as Lustre
22. Knowledge of HPC management systems, such as Bright
23. Network administration, such as Mellanox InfiniBand mesh and Ethernet networks
24. Storage administration, such as: DDN, NetApp, IBM, or Dell EMC
25. Experience managing batch scheduling systems, such as, PBS Pro, Slurm, SGE/UGE, Microsoft Scheduler
