Job Title: Intensive Needs Support Coach
Location: Rochester, Medway (11 min walk from Rochester Station or buses 191, 133, 140, 700 to Star Hill Stop F)
Salary: £24,500
Shift Pattern: 12-month fixed-term contract, rolling dependent on extension. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Flexibility may be required outside these hours based on service needs.
About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Intensive Needs Support Coach to join us on a fixed-term rolling contract as part of the Rough Sleeper Initiative Project. You will provide practical and personal support to residents, helping them become more resilient and independent. The service supports residents with a history of rough sleeping, non-engagement, and complex needs. You will support residents in engaging with activities and support plans, and will run activities, safety plans, and interventions to help them achieve their goals.
About you
We are looking for someone dedicated and passionate about supporting individuals facing multiple disadvantages, including homelessness. You will be driven to help break the cycle of homelessness by providing personalized support to foster independence and secure long-term accommodation. You should understand the challenges faced by this population and be resilient, problem-solving, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
* Experience working directly with people who have experienced homelessness
* Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including substance use and mental health issues
* Ability to build rapport and develop positive relationships with residents, including those with challenging behaviour and substance use challenges
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrated compassionate and creative support practices addressing residents' needs and risks
* IT proficiency, including learning new software and basic Microsoft Office skills
