Locum Consultant with a SI in Breast
This role is a fixed‑term (9‑month) locum consultant contract supporting the Breast Reconstructive service at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have experience and an interest in breast reconstruction and will contribute to the department’s management, teaching, audit, and research activities. Clinics and theatre sessions are based at QVH.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver the clinical service in line with professional, national, and local standards.
* Collaborate with colleagues to achieve service targets and contribute to the annual service plan, including patient activity and revenue.
* Participate in audit and publish outcome measures appropriate to the specialty.
* Act as a senior figure and role model, demonstrating the Trust’s behaviours and values, including humanity, continuous improvement and engagement with the General Medical Council re‑validation process.
Qualifications and Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
* GMC registration.
* Successful completion of FRCS (Plast) or equivalent.
* Entry on the UK Specialist Register via CCT, CESR, or European Community Right, with a proposed date within six months of interview.
* Significant experience of NHS working practices.
