Role Overview
We are looking for an autonomous and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy and Equipment Service. You will work alongside customers with a wide range of disabilities—including physical, learning and cognitive disabilities—providing planned programmes of therapeutic intervention to maximise functional ability and enable the person to achieve optimum control of their lives, reduce dependency and increase independence.
Responsibilities
* Undertake specialist functional assessments to establish if a customer meets the criteria for service provision.
* Complete comprehensive therapy strength‑based assessments and client‑centred enablement plans.
* Organise, prioritise case load and delegate tasks to Occupational Therapy Assistants to meet client‑centred objectives.
* Deliver therapeutic programmes to maximise functional ability for people with complex medical conditions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years post‑qualifying experience in a health and/or social care setting.
* Experience working in major adaptations, complex moving and handling, and enablement.
* Broad experience with people who have complex medical conditions and knowledge of multi‑pathology.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, working with people, formal/informal carers and health and social care professionals.
* Self‑motivated with a flexible approach.
