Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 7 Occupational Therapy post working within the Flying start/ Resilient Families Service (RFS) and aligned within the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. The post holder will provide support and advice by working in partnership with key professionals in the RFS to ensure that:
* Children with sensory processing differences are meeting developmental milestones
* Those individuals, including parents and professionals, can identify sensory processing differences and functional difficulties and respond to them appropriately.
The post holder will be based at Carnegie Clinic, however will be required to work across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) and Rhondda Cynon Taf sites. The successful applicant will need to be a team player, who is flexible in approach, resourceful and keen to demonstrate the distinctive contribution and added value that an Occupational Therapist can offer the multiagency team. You will need excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in achieving wellbeing and positive health outcomes for children and young people. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. This post is permanent.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure the provision of high quality Occupational Therapy services to children and young people with a range of sensory processing differences referred to the RFS.
* Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice for children and young people with a range of sensory processing differences and their families, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* Provide support and advice to Talk and Play and Childcare staff to develop bespoke interventions for children with sensory processing difficulties, respond to and support requests for opinion relating to sensory processing from Community Wellbeing & Resilience professionals.
* Visit childcare settings and schools as required to observe children open to the RFS and provide support and advice to childcare providers and teachers to ensure that a consistent approach is taken to meeting their identified sensory needs.
* Identify, provide, evaluate and report outcomes of a programme of training to various childcare settings, school staff and the wider Community Wellbeing and Resilience Service, to ensure children and young people receive an appropriate programme of intervention and support to improve their development and skills acquisition.
* Contribute to or lead service delivery and quality improvement, and develop skills and knowledge through participation in CPD development programmes and competency framework.

* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Post Graduate training in Fieldwork Education
* Registered member of Health Professional council

Experience
* Post Graduate clinical experience in Paediatric OT
* Clinical experience in group and individual Paediatric intervention
* Experience of supervision
