Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within our Metering team. You’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters. Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.
Responsibilities
* As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be visiting various properties throughout the day, working on Smart Meters in both homes and businesses. Use handheld device to complete tasks and update records on tablet for new and existing customers.
* Reconnect gas and electric Smart Meters, change SIM cards, modems, small gain aerials, re-join smart devices to the network; liaise with energy companies and exchange batteries on gas meters.
* Complete site surveys and other field-based tasks that require visiting properties.
What You’ll Bring
* Location in one of these postcode areas: BH, OX, PO, SO, SP, UB, DT. Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
* Quick to learn, eager to grasp new tasks; ability to use hand tools and experience with handheld tools.
* Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders; adherence to health and safety; self-motivated and organized for lone-working.
* Dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
* Experience in a meter reading role, especially with smart meters, is a plus; some electrical knowledge or qualification would be beneficial.
