Description The Role The Senior Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the Risk & Audit Manager to ensure that the organisation complies with contractual compliance and policies, ensuring that we deliver a high-quality compliant service to our customers, stakeholders and funders. You will deliver risk based compliance activity, monitoring and assessing organisations compliance, supporting audits and providing guidance on compliance matters to our people across the organisation. The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role in identifying compliance risks, ensuring best practices and maintain the organisation’s reputation for integrity and transparency. Salary: Starting salary £35,000 to £37,000. Location: On-site in Thornaby TS17 6BH Key Responsibilities Compliance strategy and management: Support and deliver the organisation’s compliance strategy, ensuring that it aligns with operational goals and regulatory requirements. Manage the compliance function, ensuring that compliance risks are identified, managed, and mitigated effectively. Policy Development and Implementation: Oversee the development and review of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring that they remain up to date with changes in legislation and regulations. Ensure that all staff understand and adhere to these policies. Compliance monitoring: Review and monitor contractual compliance in line with funder regulations, internal processes and monthly testing schedule. Identifying any areas of non-compliance and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions with SMART actions recorded and monitored through organisational improvement plan Compliance reporting: Prepare and present monthly compliance reports to operational managers, outlining concerns, risks, and the status of ongoing compliance activities. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in compliance processes and activity, tracking this through organisational improvement plan Audit & Assurance: Manage and coordinate internal and external compliance audits, ensuring that all areas of the organisation are prepared and compliant. Follow up on audit findings, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented. Standard Operation Procedures and review: Lead and coordinate development, implementation, and review of internal standard operating procedures (SOPs/Quick Guides). Ensuring that documentation is kept up to date with contractual updates. Risk Management: Support in identifying potential compliance risks and work with Risk & Audit Manager to develop risk mitigation activity relevant to compliance. Ensure that any compliance breaches are dealt with promptly and corrective actions are taken. Regulatory updates: Monitor and stay up to date with contractual changes relevant to the contractual programme delivery and organisation’s operations. Provide regular updates to operational delivery teams on new compliance requirements or updates Staff Training and Development: Design and deliver compliance training programmes for staff to ensure awareness of and adherence to relevant funder regulations, policies, and best practices. Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organisation. Any other ad hoc duties in line with delivery program requirements.
