About the Role
We are seeking a Phonics Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Morecambe (LA4). You will play a key role in supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and lower KS2 to develop essential reading and phonics skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering phonics interventions using schemes such as Letters and Sounds or Read Write Inc.
* Leading small group sessions and providing 1:1 support for pupils who need extra help.
* Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs and tracking pupil progress.
* Supporting children with EAL and language barriers to ensure inclusion.
* Working closely with teachers, literacy leads, and the SEN team to raise attainment.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong phonics knowledge and confidence delivering interventions.
* Experience supporting EYFS & KS1 learners (lower KS2 experience is a bonus).
* Ability to tailor support for pupils with diverse needs, including EAL and additional learning needs.
* Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children succeed.
* Prior experience with phonics intervention programs (Letters and Sounds, Read Write Inc., etc.) is highly desirable.
