Main Function of Role:
Working as part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Federated Hermes Global Enterprise Data Platform, the candidate will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the development lifecycle including support. The primary focus for this candidate will be on data engineering, using Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks with python and other related Azure Data services to support the strategic and tactical goals of Federated Hermes’ data and analytics projects.
The successful candidate will have the initiative and incentive to work in a complex environment involving multiple integration points and collaboration with other teams.
Do you have the following experience?
• develop code whilst balancing competing requirements
o providing an expeditious delivery that meets business requirements
o ensuring a high code quality is maintained
• contribute to team discussions on solution architecture
• active engagement in knowledge sharing
• develop Azure Databricks pipelines to interact with data held in Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake ,and Azure Synapse SQL Pool (data warehouse) facilitating operational and analytics data use cases (In lieu of specific Azure Databricks experience a working knowledge of Spark, python, SQL, or big data platforms will be considered.)
• work within multidisciplinary project teams
o collectively gather and refine project requirements
o agree best approach & tasks required to meet requirements
• create and modify existing Databricks pipelines using Azure Databricks and Python
• use Azure DevOps for source code control and managing releases
• bug fixes, improvements & modifications to existing systems
• early engagement with stakeholders including not only end users
but also relevant IT teams such as Information Security
• provide technical support for the Informatica data governance and data quality platform services deployed as part of the Global Enterprise Data Platform, specifically Axon, EDC and Informatica Data Quality
• identify and recommend opportunities for improvements
• ensure all development activities adhere to best practice, company defined conventions/standards and follow the prescribed governance
• development of relevant tests for processes
• adherence to development best practices
• adherence to internal change control and release management processes.

• stay current with the state of new data and analytics features within the Azure platform

• a team player, with the ability to work within a diverse and multi-skilled team
• able to balance priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines whilst maintaining quality
