Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will:-
* Lead and support multiple engineering projects including:
* Fixture design and development
* Tooling improvement and optimisation projects
* Machine installation and commissioning
* Process improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives
Duties
* Design and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support sustainable manufacturing.
* Resolve technical and production problems, including selecting and validating precision tools for CNC machines.
* Provide technical support for 3,4 and 5-axis milling operations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, CI, Quality, Engineering) to streamline workflow and improve product quality.
* Able to produce engineering quotations.
* Maintain and develop manufacturing processes to ensure safety, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
* Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement projects, using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis.
* Create and maintain engineering documentation (process plans, work instructions, tooling guides, etc.).
* Ensure all activities comply with aerospace quality requirements and regulatory standards.
* Support troubleshooting of production issues and implement corrective actions.

* Flexible and willing to travel to support other facilities.
* Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Willingness to travel to other Nasmyth sites as required to support group-wide engineering and CI initiatives.
* Full UK driving licence
Qualifications
* Degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production, or related field) or equivalent time-served engineering background.
* Experience in aerospace, precision engineering, or complex machining environments.
* Strong knowledge of 4- and 5-axis CNC milling operations and machining principles.
* Demonstrable experience in process optimisation, tooling selection, fixture design, and NPI or engineering improvement projects.
* Proficiency with CAD/CAM systems and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Understanding of aerospace quality systems (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.) is advantageous.
