We are seeking an ambitious and technically capable individual to join our business as a Production Management Trainee. This is a fully hands‑on, site‑based role and will suit someone looking to build a long‑term career within manufacturing operations and production leadership.
This structured development programme is designed to provide full operational competence across all production departments, with a clear progression pathway into a future Production Management role.
Please note: An Electrical Qualification to Level 3 (or equivalent) is an essential requirement for this position. Applications without this qualification will not be considered.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Managing Director, the successful candidate will gain practical experience across production, engineering support, Health & Safety, and operational management within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Operational Development
* Participate in a structured departmental rotation programme (approximately 3 months)
* Gain a comprehensive understanding of all production processes, including traditional/manual systems and modern automated equipment
* Support day‑to‑day production operations to achieve output, quality, and efficiency targets
* Assist department supervisors with operational and people management responsibilities
Production & Operational Support
* Assist with planning and coordinating production activities
* Monitor KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Work closely with production, engineering, and support departments to maintain efficient workflow and communication
Health & Safety
* Act as Health & Safety Coordinator for the site
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and internal procedures
* Carry out risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
* Maintain accurate Health & Safety documentation and records
Electrical Responsibilities
* Support the safe and compliant operation of plant and equipment
Administration & Compliance
* Maintain accurate production, maintenance and compliance records
* Complete reports and internal documentation in a timely manner
* Support internal and external audits where required
Training & Development
* Structured cross‑departmental training programme
* Ongoing coaching and mentoring from senior management
* Regular development reviews to support progression and competency development
Working Hours
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Friday
Flexibility may occasionally be required to meet business needs.
Qualifications
* Electrical qualification to Level 3 (or equivalent)
* Demonstrable ability to undertake electrical responsibilities safely and competently
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Good understanding of Health & Safety within manufacturing
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work within a mixed‑technology manufacturing environment
* Previous experience within manufacturing or production
* NEBOSH, IOSH, or other Health & Safety qualification
* Supervisory or leadership experience
* Injection moulding experience
