An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Social Work Team Manager within Older People Services. You will lead a creative and skilled team of Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants - supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes for the people they work with. You will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. In addition, the candidate will require professional integrity, be highly organised, have a strong understanding of key legislation, confident in the management of risk and decision making.
You will be offered the opportunity to strengthen and develop their skills, knowledge, understanding and application of legislation. There will be an opportunity to work collaboratively within a multi-agency approach on Fife HSCP’s Strategic Plan 2026 – 2029.
This role provides the opportunity to manage a team of staff comprising Senior Practitioners, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants, undertaking assessment and review underpinned by a range of legislation. As such, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership skills in relation to motivating and supporting staff with complex case work.
The Person
1. A Diploma or Degree in Social Work.
2. A commitment by the post holder to undertake training to the required level within an agreed timescale as set out by your line manager.
3. Experience of managing a team delivering a professional service to identified client groups.
4. Experience of identifying and managing risk.
5. Driver’s licence.
6. A post-graduate qualification in management to HNC level or equivalent, or a commitment by the applicant to undertake training to the required level.
Desirable:
7. Experience of managing a team delivering social work services for Adults and Children’s Services.
8. Post-qualification award in child welfare and protection, practice teaching, mental health, criminal justice, or SVQ assessor.
9. A post-graduate qualification in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.
