Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager
Salary: circa £30,800 per annum
Location: Leicester
In partnership with a well respected charity, I am recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager to lead the operations of a 24-hour refuge in Leicester, providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children escaping domestic violence.
You will join a non-profit charity dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
As Refuge Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the service. Key responsibilities include:
Managing staff rotas and team performance
Budgeting and financial oversight
Staff recruitment, training, and development
Supporting residents with benefit claims and housing needs
Maintaining accurate records and using internal systems
Delivering presentations and building relationships with local authorities, community groups, and partner organisationsEssential Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in work with vulnerable people, especially domestic abuse victims, women, young people, and children
Minimum of three years in a care or social welfare setting
Good written and verbal communication skills
Fluent in English and at least one main BAME language
Ability to work flexible and unsociable hours
Strong administrative skills
Interpreting skills
Listening and counselling skills
Knowledge of multi-agency partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
