Medacs Healthcare is working in partnership with The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn (QEH) to recruit a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with a specialist interest in Gynae‑Oncology to join a friendly, forward‑thinking department delivering high‑quality women's health services across West Norfolk and surrounding areas.

About the Role
As a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will join an established team providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care, with dedicated opportunities to develop and deliver specialist Gynae‑Oncology services.
You will work across inpatient, outpatient, community antenatal hubs, and outreach clinics, contributing to both general and specialist pathways. You will also support ongoing service improvement programmes, including:
1. Maternity Culture Transformation
2. Elective Restoration Pathways
3. Implementation of evidence‑based new ways of working
4. Development of specialist gynaecology services
5. This is a key role within a motivated, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, modern, patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
6. Provide consultant‑level care across general obstetrics, general gynaecology, and Gynae‑Oncology
7. Lead and participate in outpatient clinics, including ANC, general gynaecology, and specialist clinics
8. Support urgent suspected cancer (USC) pathways and oncology‑related clinics
9. Contribute to elective and emergency gynaecology theatre activity
10. Participate in MDTs, governance meetings, and service development initiatives
11. Work collaboratively with midwives, nurses, AHPs, and divisional leadership
About the department and setting
12. Part of the Women & Children's Division, serving West Norfolk, South Lincolnshire, and East Cambridgeshire
13. Consultant team with diverse subspecialty interests including Gynae‑Oncology, Urogynaecology, Fetal Medicine, Colposcopy, EPAU, and Minimally Invasive Surgery
14. Newly developed maternity ward with 18 obstetric beds, standalone Triage Unit, and 8‑room Labour Ward
15. Newly refurbished Emerson Unit for Gynaecology outpatients
16. Specialist clinics including Colposcopy, Ambulatory Hysteroscopy, Urodynamics, PMB, Oncology, and EPAU
What we're Looking For
Essential:
17. MBBS or equivalent medical degree
18. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
19. Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR)
20. UK Right to Work
21. DBS/PVG check (or willingness to complete)
Desirable:
22. Experience in Gynae‑Oncology pathways
23. Experience in service development or transformation programmes
24. Interest in teaching, research, or leadership roles
