South Staffordshire College is relocating to a new building in the centre of Tamworth in August 2025. The new college building will have a canteen serving food, drinks and snacks to the college community of staff and students. As part of the service, the College is looking for an Assistant Catering Manager/Chef who will support the Catering Manager with the delivery of an excellent level of service and product. The Assistant Catering Manager/Chef will work mainly on food preparation and will also work closely with the College's Catering Training Department to provide opportunities for College students to gain work experience and produce food for the canteen.
The Assistant Catering Manager/Chef should have at least 5 years' experience as a chef in an educational setting. It is essential to have a food hygiene qualification and preferably at least a Level 2 qualification in Catering. The successful candidate will have a strong customer service ethic and will be able to work well in a team and also on their own initiative.
