Job overview

The North East London NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Community Paediatrician for Havering, to join a team of 3 other Consultant Community Paediatricians working within an integrated specialist children’s service in a progressive Community Paediatric department,

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to Neuro-disability role along with the doing the looked after children post will be supported by the Named doctor for safeguarding, clinical lead for Community Paediatrics and Associate Medical director.

Havering specialist community paediatric services are based at The Acorn centre, 306 London road Romford RM7 9NH, and part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team housing Community paediatricians, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Team, Specialist Neurodisability Nursing Team, Paediatric therapists, clinical Psychologist, Assistant psychologist and Health care assistant .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The community paediatric Medical team consists of total 4 Consultant Paediatricians. In addition, the service is supported by 2 full time specialty trainees (level 2&3). In addition to the lead roles of named doctor, the type of Neurodisability clinics will be allocated to suit the competencies and interests of the post holder whilst meeting the needs of the service.

There is no out-of-hours on-call commitment with this post. The post holder will contribute to the daytime weekly child protection rota. This would include assessment of children referred for suspected child abuse and supervision of trainees/colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent
2. CCT in CCH, or demonstrate Level 3 competencies in all areas of CCH

Experience

Essential criteria

3. 5 years higher specialist training including 3 years Community Paediatrics
4. At least 2 years General Professional Training in paediatrics
5. 5 years Higher Specialist Training, including 3 years in Community Paediatrics
