Grõ Careers is exclusively partnered with a highly respected, design-led architecture studio renowned for delivering landmark projects across London and Europe. With a strong reputation for cultural sensitivity, technical excellence, and material richness, this medium-sized studio is seeking a Project Director to play a pivotal role in steering complex, high-profile developments through to completion. Known for their award-winning work across high-end residential, cultural, hospitality, and workplace sectors, this medium-sized practice offers a rare opportunity for a Project Director to step into a pivotal leadership role, starting with a landmark residential-led regeneration scheme in Central London. The Role As Project Director, you will lead project delivery across a portfolio of complex, high-value residential and mixed-use schemes. From day one, you’ll take ownership of a 300-unit development currently on site, working with a demanding client and contractor team that will benefit from your clarity, rigour, and authority. This is an opportunity to play a visible role in the studio’s continued delivery excellence, while also positioning yourself to shape projects from their earliest phases in the mid to long term. Key responsibilities include: Managing a large-scale project from Stage 5 through to completion, while contributing to earlier stage planning and design strategy for additional projects. Leading consultant coordination, programme management, contract administration, and design team performance. Leading on change control/management, scope creep, and fee/scope negotiations. Representing the studio in client meetings, contractor workshops, and on-site reviews. Driving team performance to meet the highest standards of design and execution. Providing mentoring and oversight to project architects and emerging leaders. This role is ideal for an experienced architectural professional who is technically adept, strategically minded, and ready to lead from the front. You may come from a delivery-focused architectural background, or a contractor-side Design Manager or Technical Coordinator/Manager role. What matters is your ability to drive complex projects to completion while contributing meaningfully to early-stage thinking. We’re looking for someone with: 10 years of experience, ideally including the delivery of large-scale, high-density residential or mixed-use projects in London (200–500 units). A background in architecture (ARB or equivalent), with strong project management, coordination and leadership skills. An understanding of contractor-side priorities and deliverables. Solid experience with D&B contracts. Confidence navigating client relationships and technical design development under pressure. A long-term ambition to influence full-stage projects and mentor others in doing the same. A collaborative mindset and the ability to mentor junior team members. Experience with high-end, design-focused projects is highly desirable. Why This Studio? With multiple RIBA awards, a culture of cross-disciplinary collaboration, and a portfolio that spans everything from Central London masterplans to sculptural cultural venues in Europe, the practice offers diverse and stimulating long-term prospects. You’ll start within the residential and mixed-use sector, but your career here could see you contributing to hospitality, arts and cultural projects, bespoke workplace environments, and even internationally located design opportunities in the short term. All while operating in a studio that genuinely values materiality, sustainability, and the human experience. This is a chance to join a respected team of architects and directors who are shaping some of London’s most ambitious design-led developments, and who are looking for someone to help drive them forward. To Apply This opportunity is exclusive to Grõ Careers and will not be advertised elsewhere. If you’re ready to lead from the front while building toward a fully integrated role across all RIBA stages, send your CV and a concise project list or portfolio to Reece at Grõ Careers. Due to high interest, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence.
