Currently, we are looking for a Principal Engineer who will be a part of Embed, a business unit of Littelfuse that offers automotive embedded systems consultancy to our customers. Focusing on real-time control systems using model-based design techniques to improve quality and productivity. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from Vehicle Electronic & Electrical Architecture, Climate and Body Domain Applications, Electrical Distribution and Protection, and the development of Embedded Systems; leading the systems engineering work and supporting software and hardware development. About the job: Provide technical support to our Business Development team concerning engaging with customers to understand their technical needs and scope for technical development Provide technical support and guidance to each of the engineering teams, system, software, and hardware disciplines To help identify, develop, and protect Embed IP Identify opportunities for reuse and commonality to improve product/project development times and cost Help team leaders develop training paths for each discipline based on current technology and methodologies For Functional-Safety/Cybersecurity-rated systems, ensure that we have an appropriate Safety/Cybersecurity Case for the Item, or be able to create a 'Safety Element/Cybersecurity component out of Context' design Assist in the creation of engineering strategies that will help achieve the company's vision and goals Implementing process improvements About you: 10 years of experience in successfully delivering embedded system solutions within an automotive environment Degree in an Engineering or relevant discipline Experience in a Safety Engineering role or a Systems Engineering role developing complex vehicle systems across the product lifecycle A strong background in Embedded System development preferably with at least 5 years in a software or hardware development role Extensive knowledge of requirements management and analysis tools Good knowledge of: vehicle-based networking and communications protocols (CAN, LIN etc) automotive diagnostics protocols and practices (UDS, DoIP) vehicle-based control and electrical systems functional safety lifecycle, including analysis techniques like HARA, FTA and functional safety controls at the vehicle and ECU level. the cybersecurity lifecycle, including analysis techniques like TARA, STRIDE and cybersecurity controls at the vehicle and ECU level.
