Position Overview:
The Finance and Accounting Manager will oversee and streamline financial operations for a privately-owned pharmaceutical company with a presence in the UK, EU, and India. Responsibilities include managing financial health, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and providing strategic insights for decision-making. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in accounting practices, tax regulations, and financial strategies across these regions, with pharmaceutical industry experience being an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting:
o Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
o Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections across regions.
o Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
o Consolidate financial reports for the UK, EU, and Indian operations.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with local taxation laws, including VAT, GST, corporate tax, and statutory requirements.
o Oversee external audits and liaise with regulatory authorities in all jurisdictions.
o Maintain updated knowledge of financial laws and regulations across regions.
3. Strategic Financial Planning:
o Collaborate with senior management to provide data-driven insights for financial planning and decision-making.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.
o Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
4. Accounting Operations:
o Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and inventory management systems.
o Ensure accurate pricing, cost accounting, and financial tracking for pharmaceutical products.
o Manage financial software systems and ensure they meet business needs.
o Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team across regions.
o Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the department.
5. Qualifications and Skills:
o Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA preferred).
o 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
o Expertise in international financial standards, tax laws, and regulatory compliance in the UK, EU, and India.
o Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
o Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multicultural teams and stakeholders.
o MBA in Finance or a related discipline.
o Experience in cost accounting for manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries.
o Familiarity with supply chain finance and inventory optimization.
o Strategic and analytical thinking with attention to detail.
o Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
o Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
o Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
