Salary: £35,000 - 35,000 per year Requirements: We require a recognised qualification in data management, computing or engineering, or equivalent experience. We require experience working with large data sets in data management environments. We require experience interrogating SQL database tables, or equivalent systems, to analyse trends, identify gaps and errors, and present findings to colleagues. We require an understanding of asset management principles and awareness of flood risk assets and the flood risk management sector in Wales. We require strong analytical thinking skills and experience using data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI. We require a thorough understanding of computer systems and applications. We require Welsh language skills at Level A1, Entry level, or a willingness to develop these skills with our support. We require the ability to demonstrate skills and experience using the STAR method during application and interview. We require willingness to participate in incident response activities. Responsibilities: We deliver tactical work in flood risk asset management programmes, mainly using our AMX Flood database and supporting systems such as Power BI. We monitor, maintain and improve GIS data and ensure operational teams have reliable data to support site evaluation and programme delivery. We deliver technical advice on sector and technical issues, with a focus on improving data in our AMX Flood database. We contribute to improving flood asset data in spatial environments using GIS tools. We support the National Flood Asset Database and its public-facing Open Data portals. We deliver work plans and agreed actions that contribute to business planning. We participate in technical groups related to the AMX Flood database. We work with colleagues across our organisation to promote consistent industry and specialist practices. We support site inspections, asset condition assessments and programme monitoring through analysis and reporting. We undertake health and safety duties appropriate to the role. We take part in incident response activities when required. We carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade of the role.
