Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Class Teacher to join a supportive alternative provision in Hartlepool. This role involves working with pupils who have SEMH needs, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development.

Location: Hartlepool
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary until July 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Pay Rate: £130 – £210 per day (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
2. Support pupils with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
3. Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
4. Build strong relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
5. Implement behaviour management strategies effectively
6. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
7. Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
Requirements
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
9. Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or in alternative provision (desirable)
10. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
11. Ability to build positive relationships and inspire pupils
12. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
