Speedwell Court is a beautiful, purpose built home that provides an exclusive setting and high quality residential and Dementia care to its elderly residents. Staff are committed to looking after the health and wellbeing of residents. This includes providing a range of activities to get involved with, serving delicious, nutritious meals and providing a high standard of care and support to residents.
This role is based on a full time contract of 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday).
The role:
* To keep the grounds and garden tidy.
* Plan, plant, grow and sow fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs for the home.
* Complete checks and minor maintenance to all specified equipment on a regular basis.
* To contact nominated contractors for repairs and servicing, as agreed with the Manager.
* To undertake routine testing within policy and procedure for water, fire checks and relevant health & safety polices.
* To ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date and completed.
* Clear snow and spread salt when necessary.
* Report any emergencies to Property Services
* Minor adjustments to windows, doors, restrictors and door closers
* To ensure strict confidentiality in all matters
* Understand and observe all relevant regulations and Abbeyfield policies and procedures.

About you:
* Good general knowledge and experience in gardening.
* Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills.
* Ability to communicate and interact well with people.
* To be able to read and write to a good standard, and computer literate.
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations.
* Ability to assess and manage risk.
* Ability to work on own initiative
