The Role: Cloud Operations (Cloud Ops) Engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of our IT services. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in AWS and a strong understanding of other major cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure. The role includes coaching and mentoring the wider TechOps team.
Key Responsibilities
* Cloud Infrastructure Ownership: Administer, maintain, and secure core cloud infrastructure with a primary focus on AWS.
* Multi-Cloud Management: Maintain knowledge of GCP and Azure services to support and integrate with a multi-cloud environment.
* IT Service Enhancement: Collaborate with TechOps engineers to identify and implement improvements to IT services, focusing on automation, reliability, and efficiency.
* Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Provide coaching and mentorship to other engineers to develop cloud and operational skills.
* Endpoint & Identity Management: Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (Kandji and Intune) and Okta identity provider.
* Network Infrastructure: Manage network services with knowledge of SD-WAN technologies, particularly Meraki.
* Operating System Support: Support desktop environments, including ChromeOS and macOS.
* Process Improvement: Apply ITIL 4 framework to improve IT service management processes and operational best practices.
* Incident & Problem Management: Lead the resolution of complex infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven hands-on experience in a Cloud Operations, DevOps, or similar role.
* AWS expertise with a wide range of services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, etc.).
* Strong working knowledge of core services across GCP and Azure.
* Extensive experience with MDM platforms (Kandji, Intune, or similar).
* Expertise in IAM and identity management, particularly Okta.
* Hands-on experience with ChromeOS and macOS administration.
* Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Meraki).
* Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
