This post is for internal candidates to University Hospitals Tees Group (South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust & North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust/NTH Solutions). Applicants are invited to apply for a part time ward clerk post on Gara Orthopaedic Unit, within the Friarage Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, confident person who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, have good organisational skills and the ability to work using their own initiative.

Main duties of the job

We require a friendly and approachable person with a professional manner, who able to work well under pressure. Previous telephone and computer skills are required and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, flexibility will be required as part of the role.

Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, we are looking for someone who is a good team player. The role will involve direct contact with patients, relatives and other members of the public.

The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their workload to fit around the busy ward environment, alongside arranging clinics and follow up appointment's. Reception duties are a large part of the role as well as handling public enquiries. Previous experience of working in a similar role in an NHS setting would be an advantage however full training will be given.

2. NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
