The Role
We're looking for someone who is genuinely obsessed with AI and automation - not as a buzzword, but as a craft. This is a new role and you'll define a lot of it. Half your time will be internal: building tools, automating processes and keeping the agency ahead of where the industry is moving. The other half will be client-facing: helping our clients understand and act on the AI opportunity in their own marketing and operations.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to prompt ChatGPT and call it innovation. We want someone who builds, experiments and ships.
Key Responsibilities
Internal – agency efficiency and tooling
* Audit and redesign internal workflows to integrate AI at every point it adds real value
* Build and maintain proprietary tools that improve delivery speed and quality across the team
* Evaluate and implement new AI platforms, APIs and automation tools as the landscape evolves
* Train the wider team on AI tools and embed a culture of practical experimentation
* Keep a working knowledge of where the market is heading and bring that perspective into agency strategy
* Manage and optimise cost of infrastructure
* Develop and deliver AI strategy and implementation as a premium, billable service
* Advise clients on where AI can meaningfully improve their marketing performance and operations
* Build bespoke automation workflows, reporting tools and integrations for clients where appropriate
* Contribute to pitches and proposals where AI capability is a genuine differentiator
Must Have
* Demonstrable experience building with AI tools, not just using them - APIs, LLMs, automation platforms
* Hands‑on experience with tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, n8n, Make, Zapier, LangChain, n8n or similar
* Strong enough understanding of digital marketing to know where AI adds real commercial value
* Excellent communicator - able to translate complex AI concepts clearly for non‑technical clients and colleagues
* Self‑directed and comfortable working in a fast‑moving agency environment where priorities shift
* Commercially minded - understands that tools need to deliver outcomes, not just look impressive
* Experience building AI‑powered reporting or analytics products
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
* Background in SEO, PPC or content marketing
* Experience in an agency or consultancy setting
* Familiarity with vector databases, RAG pipelines or fine‑tuning workflows
