A little more about your role…
We’re excited to be growing our Environmental Project Management team and are looking for several Assistant Project Managers to join us in our PMO team.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of multi-disciplinary environmental projects, working closely with Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep projects safe, on track and within budget. You’ll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of work across the UK, spanning both public and private sector clients.
It’s a brilliant opportunity to build your core project management foundations, learning how to apply structured processes and best practice in a real project environment. You’ll get hands‑on experience across the full lifecycle, helping to troubleshoot challenges as they arise, and build the skills and confidence to progress into an Environmental Project Manager role over time.
So, if you enjoy getting into the detail, bringing order to complexity and don’t mind a spreadsheet or two (or twenty), you’ll feel right at home here.
You’ll be joining a high‑performing, environmentally focused Project Management team known for its collaborative, supportive culture and strong focus on development. As we continue to grow, we’re committed to giving you the space, support and opportunities to learn, progress and build a rewarding career.
Our work is varied, meaningful and often nationally significant. You could be contributing to major infrastructure programmes such as National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade, Heathrow Expansion, East–West Rail or Sizewell C, alongside a wide range of built‑environment projects that shape how people live, work and travel.
You’ll be involved in:
* Supporting the development of project proposals, helping to define scope, programme, resources and budget
* Assisting with key project management documentation, including plans, cost forecasts, schedules, risk registers and stakeholder logs
* Coordinating project progress, helping track delivery against milestones
* Ensuring health and safety requirements for site visits are in place, including approvals
* Organising meetings, capturing key outcomes and following up on actions
* Managing project information within Common Data Environments such as SharePoint and ProjectWise
* Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with technical specialists and suppliers
* Supporting the administration of supplier contracts
What we would like you to demonstrate…
* Experience supporting project or workstream delivery, with an understanding of how to keep activities aligned to time, cost and quality expectations.
* Comfortable working with project documentation such as plans, schedules, risk logs, budgets and reports.
* High attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with data and identify inconsistencies or issues early.
* Able to organise and prioritise your workload across multiple tasks or projects.
* Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage, analyse and track information.
* Experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including technical teams.
* Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to capture key information and follow up on actions.
* A proactive approach to problem solving, supporting the identification and resolution of issues.
