Job Opportunity: SHE Manager - Oxfordshire
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join a reputable groundworks contractor as SHE Manager for their Oxfordshire region. They need a strong, well-developed SHE professional with a demonstrable track record in managing a multi-site portfolio. Due to the nature of the schemes involved, you must have experience in residential groundworks or housebuilding.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing systems and driving continuous improvement in ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
2. Reviewing, improving, and approving Health and Safety plans.
3. Driving a behavioural safety culture at site level with a proactive approach.
4. Managing sub-contractors and their performance, coaching a Health & Safety ethos on-site.
5. Liaising with statutory bodies, legal advisors, and insurers as required.
6. Building strong relationships across departments.
7. Collaborating with the regional Construction Director and Managing Director to promote H&S initiatives.
You will be experienced in coaching and mentoring personnel, controlling safety outputs on-site, and ensuring compliance across a diverse risk portfolio. You will be:
1. An excellent communicator, capable of building relationships from site to board level.
2. Holding a Degree in Health and Safety or relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH.
3. Having experience as a Safety Advisor or Manager in groundworks or residential construction (ESSENTIAL).
4. Well-versed in implementing and maintaining management systems.
