POSITION: Day Nursery Manager
LOCATION: Future Flyers Day Nursery, Stoke-on-Trent ST6
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
REPORTS TO: Nursery Owners
SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on Nursery Manager who combines effective leadership with a warm, approachable style. The successful candidate will be caring, kind and committed to creating a positive, supportive culture for staff, children and families.

WHAT YOU WILL DO -
LEAD AND SUPPORT THE TEAM
* Recruit, train and supervise all nursery staff, ensuring statutory ratios are maintained and fostering a culture of kindness, teamwork and mutual respect.
* Provide regular supervision, appraisals and professional development opportunities where staff feel empowered to develop.
* Lead by example, fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture.
* Address performance issues promptly and effectively.
CREATE A CARING ENVIRONMENT WHERE CHILDREN THRIVE
* Oversee the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and plan activities that spark curiosity and learning.
* Make sure each child's individual needs and interests are recognised and celebrated.
* Keep parents fully informed with progress updates and friendly conversations.
ENSURE CHILDREN'S SAFETY, HAPPINESS AND WELL-BEING
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure policies are always followed.
* Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment indoors and outdoors.
* Carry out regular risk assessments and respond quickly to any issues.
* Manage budgets, fees and staff rotas fairly, balancing costs with quality care.
* Stay on top of records, inspections and all regulatory requirements.
* Work closely with the owners on ideas for improving and growing the nursery.
* Be the nursery's main point of contact with OFSTED

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Level 5 or degree-level qualification in Early Years or Childcare Management.
* Previous management or deputy management experience in a nursery or early years setting.
* Warm, approachable leadership style and excellent communication skills.
* Good understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
* First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid certification.
* Organised, proactive and confident with budgets and paperwork.
* Experience preparing for and achieving strong inspection outcomes - Ofsted or equivalent.
