Technical Superintendent (LNG) - Permanent - London – Competitive£
A leading LNG shipping company with a global presence are recruiting a Technical Superintendent to join their team in London.
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, duties will include (but not limited to);
* Anticipating and driving Safe and Flawless Performance of assigned vessels' operational requirements including: Dry-dock and major repairs and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs
* Ensuring arrangements in place for maintaining appropriate certification
* Promoting Health and Safety as Corporate Values
* Providing Technical and Operational support and guidance to assigned vessels
* Coaching and developing Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore
* Arranging class surveys in a timely and cost effective manner
* Coordinating with relevant shore-based resources to support the vessels
* Ensuring timely analysis of monthly financial reports
* Analysing the nature and root cause of any serious breakdown or damage
* Monitoring results of all vetting inspections and other internal or external audits and ensure follow-up on findings and close outs in timely manner
* Carrying out regular risk reviews for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken
* Set clear goals and expectations for Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore
* Management and Planning of manuals / procedures as required for terminal operations
* Promptly manage incidents/Defect, including root cause analysis and preventive measures
* Monitor vessels maintenance works based on the PMS with focus on Critical equipment and overdue jobs
To be considered for this position you will have sailed as a Chief Engineer onboard LNG Carriers OR have shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or within a similar capacity.
The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of technical operations for the vessel types managed, alongwith a desire to drive continuous maintenance and operational condition of the Company’s vessels and a desire to drive continual improvement in self and others
