Role Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our hard working and committed team of greens staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual who is looking to further their career at the only Gowf Club in the World.
As an integral part of the management team you will work closely with and report to the Head Greenkeeper while playing a key role in maintaining and improving course standards, leading daily operations and supporting the management of staff and resources. This will include
Main duties and responsibilities
* Assist the Head Greenkeeper in the day to day management of the golf course
* Prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf with a key focus on high standards of turf care, presentation, playability while showing a keen eye for attention to detail
* Communicate information to staff, management and golfers.
* Be an integral part of course projects, renovations and improvements
* Ensure the correct procedures are followed for the safe use of all machinery, fertilisers and pesticides including the preparation for daily use
* Supervise staff to ensure that the desired work is carried out safely and to an excellent standard with a disciplined approach to meeting targets whilst adhering to Health and Safety legislation and Environmental best practices.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience.
* SCQF level 6 (previously level 3) or equivalent is essential.
* PA1, PA2, and PA6A spraying certificates.
* Knowledge of irrigation maintenance and repair would be advantageous.
* Mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance of machinery.
* Chainsaw licence would be advantageous.
* Hold a full driving licence.
