Role: Supplier Quality Specialist
Location: Gloucester / Cheltenham - onsite
Role Type: 12 months ongoing
Salary: potentially up to £34 an hour depending on experience
Role Overview:
Our client, a leading player in the aerospace sphere, is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Specialist, electrical-focused, to be based full-time at a key supplier facility in Cheltenham. This site-based role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving supplier quality performance in accordance with the clients technical and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes, and products to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.
Review and verify AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), including specific First Article Inspections.
Inspect hardware and assemblies (with a focus on electrical wiring and circuit assemblies) for conformity to specifications.
Investigate and report on non-conformances, including rejected products, escape notifications, and failure reports.
Evaluate supplier capability and capacity for current and prospective work.
Support supplier improvement initiatives, including the development of training materials to enhance quality and productivity.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelors degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in quality audits and supplier assessments.
Technical ability to perform source inspections, particularly of electrical components and assemblies.
Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards (preferred).
Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies.
Desirable Experience:
Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience with AS9102 requirements.
Background in aerospace supply chain quality or experience within aerospace regulatory agencies.
Familiarity with developing supplier improvement plans, delivering training, and providing hands-on coaching.
