Balfour Beatty has been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage – a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Commercial Administrator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you’ll be doing
* Support more experienced members of the commercial team in undertaking commercial administrative duties such as subcontractor administration, change management and other commercially related activities.
Governance
* Comply with the company’s governance requirements.
Commercial Administration
* Order information and systematically check data.
* Measure, record and value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
* Review weekly and monthly section programmes of works.
* Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes.
* Measure and interpret specifications and drawings.
* Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates.
* Translate measurements from drawings and specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates.
* Use the company’s ERP system and embrace LEAN/digital opportunities.
* Collate cost and value information.
* Prepare cost reconciliation statements.
* Measure works and agree with subcontractors.
Procurement
* Collect information required to specify procurement requirements.
* Record and document information including registration of interest.
* Understand the steps and documentation required.
Who we’re looking for
* HNC/HND/NVQ or experiential equivalent.
* CCSC Card (Academically or Professionally Qualified Person).
