Role Overview
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils who require consistent one-to-one or small-group support throughout the school day. Many of the pupils you will support have EHCPs and require tailored strategies to help them manage transitions, sensory challenges, and emotional regulation.
You will be supported by an experienced SENCO and leadership team, but this role also requires confidence, initiative, and a proactive approach. The successful candidate will be someone who can remain calm under pressure, apply behaviour strategies consistently, and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
* Providing dedicated 1:1 SEN support to pupils with autism and additional needs
* Supporting pupils in line with EHCP outcomes, individual support plans, and behaviour strategies
* Helping pupils access the curriculum by adapting tasks and learning materials
* Supporting communication development and engagement in learning activities
* Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, managing anxiety, and coping with sensory overload
* Implementing structured routines and consistent behaviour expectations
* Supporting pupils during unstructured times, including breaktimes, lunchtimes, and transitions
* Working closely with class teachers to support lesson delivery and inclusion
* Liaising with the SENCO and contributing observations for reviews and meetings
* Promoting independence while ensuring pupils feel safe and supported
* Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and professional conduct
