Electrical Design Engineer
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to take ownership of innovative projects from concept through to delivery? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing engineering team, working on complex electromechanical systems that require creative thinking and robust design.
Youll play a key role in the full product lifecycle from initial requirements capture through to design, build, test and integration producing high-quality, cost-effective electrical solutions. Youll collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable designs on time and within budget.
What youll be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer:
* Designing electrical systems including power distribution, control panels and instrumentation
* Developing new designs and updating legacy systems
* Evaluating system requirements and identifying appropriate technical solutions
* Producing technical documentation such as test plans, interface documents and supplier specifications
* Supporting prototype and initial build testing
* Writing technical reports, presenting design concepts, and engaging with internal stakeholders
* Providing technical input during installation, testing and commissioning phases
* Working closely with mechanical, software and project teams to ensure seamless system integration
What were looking for in an Electrical Design Engineer:
* HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Knowledge and experience of electrical design techniques for industrial wiring and system interconnection
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment for fault finding and prototype testing
* Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
* Familiarity with electrical design calculations and analysis
* Knowledge of industry standards (desirable)
* Experience designing wiring harnesses/looms (desirable)

* Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
* Excellent problem-solving and innovative thinking
* Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills
