Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team working on one of our long-standing projects in the Southampton, Chichester and Winchester areas. We are actively seeking experienced Support Workers who have a proven track record of working with vulnerable young people aged 16-25, in a supported living environment.
Shifts are 24 hours long and include a highly paid sleep-in shift. Rotas are created one month in advance, subject to change, and you have the option to work up to 4 x 24 hour shifts per week, dependent on availability. Most shifts involve lone working with the young person, but our management team and on-call support are always available to provide assistance.
The ideal Support Worker will possess the necessary skills and mindset to work with vulnerable young people who have faced traumatic experiences. You will need to be self-motivated and able to plan your day effectively, while fully engaging with the service users you support.
Emotional resilience, patience, and empathy are key traits for a Support Worker, as well as the ability to maintain consistency in your approach. It is essential to establish and maintain safe boundaries between yourself and the young people you support, as their behaviour can be challenging and unpredictable at times.
Having a good understanding of OFSTED regulations and requirements would be desirable.
